New paper: Quantifying the environmental controls on erosion of a hard rock cliff

Dr Emma Vann Jones, a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) at Durham University, and long-standing member of the COBRA project has recently published a new paper in the journal Marine Geology – read the full paper here.

Emma’s primary research interests are focussed on quantifying landform and surface change, and the environmental processes that control this. By developing and applying novel field monitoring techniques to address problems that traditional approaches have been unable to answer, Emma’s most recent paper explores how best to represent conditions at the coast. Through the comparison of datasets including microseismic motions, monitored far-field and modelled at-cliff conditions, Emma examines the controls on the occurrence of erosion via rockfalls of a hard rock cliff.
